Our dog Bella and me in my parents' pool

JULY 4TH IN MP

Well, the picture above is the only one I took all weekend because when I got out my camera, it would not turn on....and then I realized that the battery was dead. Ugh. So I had Nathan take this one with his iPhone because I thought it was funny that Bella was content sitting on the float like a person. :)

On Friday afternoon, Nathan and I went to MP to spend the long weekend at my parents' house. We grilled steaks, ordered pizza, ate at Two Senoritas and Herschel's, made one of my favorite cakes that my grandmother used to make for me, and had chicken spaghetti. The weekend was definitely all about food as you can tell, which is pretty consistent with most of our family gatherings. We also drove to Pittsburg on Saturday to go to Efurd Orchurds where we had fresh peach ice cream that was delicious and we bought a jar of strawberry preserves...so good. I couldn't get over how packed that place was! I hadn't been there in a long time and back then, it was an old beat up place that sold only fresh peaches....and now, they sell all kinds of jarred goodies, fresh peas, peaches, strawberries and corn. Most of the weekend was spent laying out by the pool. Yes, it was ridiculously hot but laying on a float makes it bearable.

On Sunday evening, my parents, Nathan, my grandmother and I went out on the golf course to play 9 holes. I should say that it was just my dad, mom and Nathan who played....and I hit the ball a few times when I felt like it. I used to love golf when I was in high school but haven't played since then....and I am now terrible as a result of not playing often enough. Since I don't like to do things that I am not good at, I don't see myself taking up golf anytime soon. :) After the golf game, we ordered pizza and got ready for the great fireworks show that Trinity Baptist Church puts on each year. We have a good view of the fireworks from my parents' backyard just over the lake and it makes it so pretty. I love it!

We left to come back to Dallas on Monday morning so we could enjoy a little downtime at home before Nathan had to go back to school and his internship on Tuesday. My company gave us Tuesday off so I spent the day running errands and doing chores around the house. I will be better about having my camera charged for all upcoming events! :)
